Job Description

You will support the CFO in all aspects of financial management, present accurate and timely information, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the group, improve the quality of finance function and internal controls of the company. You will act as a role model, providing clear communication of expectations, roles and responsibilities and keep the wider team informed and engaged. You will provide support and guidance to the finance teams at the properties under management and business support to the GMs and corporate team.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall supervision and responsibility for the financial functions of the hotels in accordance with accounting and financial management requirements.
  • Responsible for group and asset level financial reporting and ensure compliance with the company’s timelines, tax, legal, statutory and fiscal requirements.
  • Ensure implementation and improvement of internal controls to safeguard the assets of the hotels and have a working knowledge of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
  • Supervise responses by hotels to Tax Audits and other compliance requirements connected to financial operations
  • Ensure that control is maintained of Purchase of Capital Equipment in accordance with company policies and approved Capital Expenditure Budget.
  • Providing guidance to both the corporate and hotel finance team on technical accounting matters
  • Work with hotels to review financial analyses of hotel operations including variance explanation and make recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals/targets across all properties.
  • Reviews, monitors and analyses financial performance against established goals and benchmarks by managing work streams to drive cost efficiency and savings.
  • Support corporate team on creating, reviewing and rolling out global finance initiatives
  • Ability to work as an effective member of the regional management team and work closely with the CFO, Regional Managing Directors, Asset Managers and wider team in supervising and improving the performance of hotels in the region.
  • Carrying out any further accounting and financial requirements as advised from time to time by the company management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in comparable regional roles
  • Luxury hospitality background preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of all areas of hotel accounting including Front Office, Food & Beverage outlets, Spas, Stores and Administration. Hands on experience in the various areas would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of income tax law and accounting practices in the regions is essential.
  • Ability to effectively supervise the Finance Departments in each hotel.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology relevant to hotel operations including experience in using accounting software.
  • Expertise in devising policies & procedures and systems contributing towards improved financial performance and enhanced internal controls.
  • Outstanding personnel leadership and decision-making skills, inspiring team to deliver time bound results
  • Skilled in optimizing teams’ dynamics, uniting diverse agendas to a common goal, and harnessing strategic and operational drivers to deliver results.
