Job Description

We are seeking a Director to join our team within our Origination practice. The team has extensive private equity and corporate relationships and advises on all aspects of company. Your role will play a key part in understanding market dynamics, developing, identifying and evaluating our opportunities and value creation, presenting to private equity and corporate investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active idea generation of value creation opportunities for corporates and private equity in the company space
  • Engage with clients and build strong relationships to understand their business, portfolio and support with strategy development, with aim of generating value creation ideas.
  • Maintain and grow sector expertise (telecoms, media or technology) to support client engagement and idea generation
  • Contribute to the overall leadership of the team, to develop and manage team members, be pro-active in thought leadership around our opportunities and to champion both the team and our ideas internally and externally
  • Guide team members on and conduct: research and analysis of market dynamics, corporate strategies and financial performance in the industry
  • Develop strategies in the context of the shifting market dynamics and evolving strategic priorities
  • Identify potential value creation opportunities across the company – from sourcing targets through to post deal integration and transformation
  • Develop a view on target opportunities through evaluating financial performance and outlook, strategic fit, valuation, and the long term value creation opportunity including ease of execution, integration and transformation
  • Identify relevant operating models, post deal-opportunities and functional areas of interest for client
  • Prepare materials and guide / review materials from team members that: describe the business, market positioning, strategic priorities, business drivers, financial performance and valuations of clients and targets, providing recommendations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Alternatively extensive experience in strategy development through consulting or in-house corporate strategy (e.g. large consulting house or corporate),
  • Sector knowledge and experience in either telecoms or media or technology (or combination of these)
  • Proven leadership capabilities including team management and pro-active thought leadership
  • Good manager / coaching skills, with an ability to guide team members, review analysis and materials, reaching excellent outcomes for the client with skills development for the team members
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and analytical skills, with a strong ability and interest in appraising businesses from a financial, commercial and investment perspective
  • Valuation & modelling experience with strong excel skills
  • Well versed in PowerPoint– ability to convey an engaging message through a presentation
  • Exceptional commercial acumen and market awareness
  • Ability to deliver high quality service to clients
  • Highly motivated individual - self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Personable approach, must be comfortable with client exposure from the outset, with the ability to build relationships and develop their own network
  • Entrepreneurial in outlook with a passion to succeed in a competitive market environment
  • Strong academic background
  • ACA / CFA qualified
