This is an outstanding opportunity to join in this role which is newly created and will ensure proper ownership and oversight of data governance and data-related risk and control within Asset Management.

The role will require the successful candidate to oversee the governance of data globally within AM and to implement the Group Data Management Framework. The role will also require the creation of a clear controls environment for the management of data controls in conjunction with the operational teams globally. You will be comfortable operating in a leadership role and able to take decisions and to take accountability for the outcomes.

Reporting to the Global Head of Data and Digital Services, you will be a key member of their management team and discharge the formal oversight functions of the data office. You will build out the Data Governance and Risk capability and will also collaborate closely with the Group Chief Data Office and other parts of the Group. You will be required to build positive working relationships and regular communication lines with internal clients, establishing trust and credibility with senior stakeholders/ business partners while developing and leveraging an internal and external network.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You know and understand the Data Governance and Data Risk domains and how important these are within a financial services business and have a good understanding of all data policies, data risk management, data legislation and data regulation as well as experience in running oversight processes.

• Proven experience in a data governance-focused role, either buy-side or sell-side, vendor or bank
• A self-starter and a good communicator at all levels, as the role involves liaising with very senior internal clients and representing the Bank to auditors and clients
• Methodical and able to master detail as well as the bigger picture
• Proven ability to manage, take responsibility and to deliver outcomes against commitments
• Proven experience with risk management
• Good understanding and knowledge of data privacy and data regulation
• Proven ability to manage work well under pressure
