Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals – recognize good performance
Train your team to make sure they deliver with compliance, to our standards and have the tools they need to work efficiently
Coordinate the completion of all forecasts and budgets as required, with the full and active participation of Executive Team and department managers.
Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotels’ financial objectives.
Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, assets, master keys, payroll, and records.
Direct and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with the company’s requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines.
Ensure financial control procedures and systems are ethical and legal
Manage hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts)
Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally with a University Degree or Diploma in Finance or Hospitality/ Tourism Management
Minimum 2 years work experience as Director of Finance in a luxury Hotel.
Strong operational / technical knowledge
