Job Description
- Identifies, evaluates, offers and executes investments in start-up companies across Europe that are of potential financial interest to company Ventures for early, mid, and late stage investments (5-10 years until they are acquired by another Company).
- This individual will be responsible for leading the investment team around technology and strategic direction.
- Map investment trends and develop a pipeline of companies for partnership and/or potential investments of start-ups across European region.
- They are responsible for making selected investments in areas aligned with company Ventures overall strategy
- Responsible for supporting and executing Europe-based portfolio companies subsequent to investment
- Drive both investment objectives of strategic and financial
- Improve company Ventures reputation, image and visibility within the entrepreneurial ecosystem
- Communicate broadly to the ecosystem where company has and can add value
- Discover, identify, originate, and/or source new and strategically relevant investment opportunities through market research, industry networking, and attending relevant conferences and events.
- Attend board meetings and provide strategic support and/or relevant operating advice in order to maximize value of our investment portfolio.
- Assist in helping to find relevant strategic investment or partnership targets.
- Provide insightful industry news and trends information.
- Contribute to the setting of strategy for the group, working to established procedures but applying appropriate innovation to address and improve current operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience of relevant technology and/or investment experience
- Preferably VC investment experience
- Preferably educated to Graduate Level in technology and/or have MBA
- Ability to take a hypothesis-driven approach to investment decision-making
- Financial modelling and superior analytical skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Source and build new investment opportunity utilizing existing and new networks
- Communicate and build rapport with HQ investment teams
- Initiate and close investment deal from sourcing of the deal to investment closing
