Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to join a leading tax and accounting role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads high quality budget and forecast exercises, ensures that financial information and analysis supports the reporting and decision-making needs of both the business unit and the corporation.
  • Communicates forecasts, assumptions, and risks effectively during business and divisional reviews
  • Ensures that the annual 3-year strategic plan is properly forecast and executed
  • Oversees timely, accurate reporting of BU results to Divisional, Corporate and external deadlines
  • Drives insight into deviations from budget and forecast, works with BU leadership team to ensure the issues identified are addressed
  • Identifies opportunities to accelerate growth and reduce expense
  • Drives efficiency in reporting, forecasting and planning systems and processes to reduce cycle times
  • Supports the leadership team with the financial evaluation of new product initiatives and acquisition/divestment opportunities, and if realized, in the planning and execution of integration
  • Drives constant improvement of order to cash processes and delivery across fulfilment, billing, customer service and credit control
  • Oversees systems implementations and enhancements, to enable product launches, to support Finance improvements and in support of the Digital Customer Experience program
  • Ensures compliance with the controls environment across the business, enhance governance and ensure that all financial and accounting procedures and policies and control systems are up to date, communicated and complied with 
  • Develops the UK Finance team through leadership, coaching, mentoring, recruiting and training
  • Supports the Sales function in structuring large commercial deals, supports the ongoing servicing of complex key accounts

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to be successful in a matrix environment
  • Successful track record as a business partner and finance and organization leader.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and develop a high performing, finance organization.
  • Proven track record of being forward thinking and proactive in identifying business issues and opportunities, developing plans of action and executing on those plans.
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and with geographically distributed, virtual teams
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work and think independently, interpret and exercise professional judgment, creatively problem solve.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and deliver timely and quality results with a focus on accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Ability to work on and manage multiple complex projects in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Adept at managing change
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as financial budgeting and reporting systems; familiarity with SAP
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related degree.
  • 10+ years of financial management experience including 5+ years of leading teams and having responsibility for financial operation of a revenue line of business
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, and/or a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/similar)
  • Financial management experience in a publicly traded company, preferably with recurring revenue models
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as financial budgeting and reporting systems; familiarity with SAP
