Job Description

We work with labs across the world to understand their specific workflows and needs, and develop personalized solutions that range from diagnostic, drug discovery to synthetic biology. This allows us to simplify common automation tasks, while also supporting more advanced paths for specialized workflows, in a fast, flexible, and cost-efficient way.

We are looking for a Financial Controller whose mission is to develop a top performing accounting and control function, to further develop systems as well as robust and well documented processes, as the business scales, and to direct our accounting operations.

As we quickly scale our team, expand to other geographies and prepare for the next funding round, we want to ensure that our finance operations is at the right standards.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Support the company’s international activities, leading on processes, tax, compliance, relating to group activities or overseas team.
  • Business partnering with department leads to facilitate financial planning, budgeting and subsequent variance analysis, becoming highly knowledgeable of the company’s activities and operational priorities.
  • Preparing the business for its audit, including review of accounting policies and coordinating the provision of information to external auditors.
  • Continue to develop and implement a best of class finance tech stack to help automate day to day tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Recognized accounting qualification, e.g. ACA or ACCA, with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience implementing and improving finance systems and processes in-house.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing priorities.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Confident and pro-active personality with great communication skills.
  • Previous experience with group accounting.
