Job Description

My client is a well-established construction group with a strong brand and track record for staff welfare and career opportunities. This is a growing division and an opportunity to be a key member of a well-established and internally respected leadership team.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the following:

• Leadership, development and mentoring of the finance team
• Supporting the Managing Director and Regional Board with high quality financial analysis and commercial insight to inform commercial decision making
• Full accountability for the P&L, including financial control and presentation of MI packs to the MD and the CFO
• All stages of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, including FP&A and long term planning
• Assessment of new business opportunities and future construction projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with proven academic pedigree
• Experience as a Finance Director or in a leadership role where you have had full accountability for a P&L
• Business partnering and commercial mindset, who has supported an MD or GM, ideally in a divisional role, and is credible at Board level
• Strong influencing skills and adept at working in a matrix structure
• Prior experience in a construction group, or asset based business is desirable, but not essential
• Track record of building high performance teams
