Job Description

Our client, a leading employer of choice with a stellar reputation for talent planning and retention, is looking to source a talented Senior Accountant to join its high caliber external reporting team. This would be a great role for an ACA looking to make their first move into industry, working for a dynamic organization that will encourage you to apply for other roles in future within the wider finance structure. Hybrid working also available, with just 2 days per week expected in the office.
Main duties include:

• Identification, communication and managing the resolution of accounting issues including drafting of technical papers
• Liaison with and challenge to external auditors
• Drafting of audit committee papers
• Management of the production and control of all versions of accounts
• Provision of ad hoc accounting advice, e.g. acquisitions, disposals, provisions, impairment
• Liaison with tax, legal and audit
• Creation of accounting papers that consider technical and practical accounting from UK GAAP and IFRS perspective
• Accounting for adjusting items including analysis against major projects
• Accounting for provisions for onerous contracts including decisions on how to deal with specific long-term contracts
• Accounting for pensions, share based payments, financial instruments and earnings per share

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified ACA or ACCA/CIMA if not in practice
• Strong IFRS and UKGAAP knowledge
• Excellent technical skills and reporting writing
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident liaising with senior stakeholders and adept at building relationships
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Ambitious, self-starter
