Job Description

We are excited to be working with a fantastic business who are looking for a Head of Finance to join their forward thinking company. This role is to ensure the Finance department performs to the best of their abilities, in line with business objectives and legal requirements.

As the lead within the Finance team this person will support the Board in managing and growing the business.

The role will include:

• Accountability for external audit function to ensure financial information meets its legal requirements 
• Developing and implementing finance controls to support audits (internal and external) as well as compliance
• Ensuring the management accounting system meets with HMRC and other governance requirements 
• Carrying out risk assessments of non-compliance incorporation legislation updated and developing proposals
• Reviewing financial statements, management accounts and project reports and other stakeholder reports to ensure they are relevant and represent a true and fair view 
• Reviewing systems to enable timely reports and propose improvements where necessary
• Ensure reliability of records and forecasts 
• Preparing and presenting monthly Finance Board Report summary as well as any other necessary reports highlighting key issues
• Lead the annual budget process and interim forecasting 
• Accountability for payroll process
• Reviewing staff costs and overseeing direct costs to projects 
• Advising management on time costing and project budgeting
• Preparing of weekly cash reports and cash forecasts 
• Reviewing regularly of working capital requirements and long term cash flow forecasts
• Recruiting and inducting new team members and ensuring their smooth transition into the team 
• Managing performance of the finance team
• Conducting annual appraisals and targets for the team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified CIMA with 5 years + experience 
• Advanced Excel skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
