Job Description

You will be responsible for assisting the Global Employment Tax Director implement the Employment Tax Framework and align with company’s overall tax strategy and principles. You will be a subject matter expert supporting the business in an advisory capacity to proactively review our processes and policies to manage and mitigate risk exposure for all areas. You will collaborate with business partners to identify value add opportunities for company

  • Embed the company Governance Framework which forms a key part of, and is aligned to, the overall tax strategy and principles
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders to review end to end processes and policies from a perspective (e.g. travel, expense and benefits policies), ensuring process improvements are made where required/possible (making use of automation) and any areas of risk are mitigated/addressed
  • Implement and document, an agreed methodology to govern, control and monitor these processes
  • Ensure reporting of cash and non-cash benefits is correct through partnering with payroll and the HR teams locally, suggest improvements/efficiencies in this reporting (automation etc.)
  • Identify key processes which may be moved into a share service Centre to aid efficiencies
  • Define the key employment tax risk indicators and put in place a structure to monitor these on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure global moves are operationalized by the HR teams, for example if a shadow payroll is required ensure the HR team have put this in place and that it is covered in the governance structure
  • Be the point of contact for 3rd party provider global engagement for cross border expatriate taxes and other domestic employment tax issues, streamlining and centralizing the process
  • Hold periodic meetings with Payroll/HR/Finance to gain insights into the business and share changes in legislation/policies/ideas.
  • Provide training and guidance to local teams
  • Ensure tax refunds or loans are paid back to the business from globally mobile employees through business partnering with the HR teams

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Have the ability to quickly build strong trusted relationships across a large number of internal stakeholders.
  • Have a Professional approach and confident in managing external third-party providers and tax authorities.
  • Be comfortable in operating autonomously and being proactive in doing so, to help the Global employment tax director drive the transformational change embedding the employment tax framework.
  • Be highly organized with ability to priorities – must be able to manage time effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Be flexible to travel, if required.
