Job Description
We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our team to be the expert within UK Financial Control & Tax to proactively deliver all aspects of UK tax (direct and indirect), including tax planning and structuring, tax compliance and provide day-to-day transaction support to the UK Group operations and ensuring all tax filing deadlines are adhere to.
Role Specifics
- To ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and requirements relating to HMRC legislation for direct and indirect taxes
- Identify, implement and maintain opportunities to mitigate the UK tax charge through efficient and effective planning
- To support tax planning projects (where the UK is directly or indirectly involved) - eg M&A
- Develop and maintain links between with UK Operations and Commercial including the provision of transaction support. Provide details of changes in tax legislation affecting pricing and lease contracts eg capital allowances, reporting P11D values to customers
- Maintain LeasePlan’s good reputation with HMRC through regular contact and building a strong relationship
- Manage the calculation and reporting of the UK tax charge at each quarter end and year end to LeasePlan Corporation Tax Department.
- To ensure the Statutory Accounts are prepared in compliance with applicable IFRS for tax purposes
- To ensure compliance of employee benefit reporting including reviewing all P11D’s for accurate returns and calculation of Class 1A NIC and preparation of PSA Agreement return
- Advise the business of the income tax and national insurance implications of various incentive schemes and account for the tax associated with these annually on the PSA Agreement calculation where applicable
- To ensure the Group’s gearing agreement with HMRC is monitored and adhered to including negotiations with HMRC
- To ensure all Group Tax litigation is monitored and undertaken in line with the best interests of the Group eg ACT Class 2 and 4, GMAC
- Provide regular updates to the Finance Management Team including preparation of UK tax forecast for the Annual Plan process
- Develop the Tax function as a Centre of Excellence
