Job Description

The Change Function exists to drive strategic change across the firm, ensuring Change is aligned to our Strategic Goals. It consists of the following four elements which work together to deliver and embed effective change which drives realizable benefits for the Firm: The team has visibility of all new Project requests and the current Portfolio to allow assessment of priorities and the alignment of initiatives to the overall Roadmap.

Business Analysis supports the production of Business Cases, with clearly defined benefits, and the evaluation of Solutions based on data analysis across the firm. It provides a robust fact based challenge of proposals to ensure the development of the correct solution which aligns with the business need and the strategy of the firm.

Programme and Project management is responsible for effective stakeholder management and delivery of defined solutions to time, cost and quality. Governance, tracking of benefits and reporting throughout the delivery lifecycle to completion before effective closure of the project and handover into business as usual.

The Change management team work throughout the life of the project to ensure the effective engagement of stakeholders across the firm, evaluation of the readiness of change recipients and the successful embedding of change initiatives across the firm to drive benefits realization

What you'll do

  • Supporting the International Change Board (ICB) in their effective decision making by overseeing and embedding the associated governance processes and providing executive level reporting & MI
  • Actively managing an integrated roadmap of change to support the business in effectively delivering a portfolio of change in a coordinated manner and as aligned to the firm's strategic objectives, working closely with key stakeholders from across each function and national businesses to ensure that they have the capacity to absorb the change in its totality

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the creation and management of annual investment plan, including associated return on investment & benefits tracking and alignment to the retention of profits year on year
  • Tracking and reporting of portfolio wide benefits / the associated return on investment against the annual investment plan. This will include reporting on the change functions own KPIs
  • Proactively identifying portfolio level risks to the business, taking action to mitigate them
  • Acting as a key advisor and critical friend to project sponsors & project teams in order to ensure that the overall approach to the delivery of change is in line with the firm's strategic goals and the ICB's expectations
  • Controlling, creating and maintaining governance and programme-related documentation (across Business Analysis, Change Management, Programme & Project Management etc.) in a structured way
  • Managing the overall pipeline & repository of change, including the project intake process

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will be an experienced portfolio manager with a proven record for managing enterprise or firm-wide Portfolio Management Offices (PMO). This will include experience in:

  • Establishing and managing a strategic, firm-wide PMO in order to deliver on the firm's strategic agenda. This will require a 'client-centric' mindset and ability to flex styles and approaches in a way that ensures the Firm wide PMO supports the needs of the business
  • Experience within the professional services or legal sector or the ability to adjust to a complex Partnership environment is critical
  • Building strong, c-suite level relationships in order to positively influence key stakeholders and drive buy-in to the overarching agenda of the change team. Displays good interpersonal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations. Is effective in quickly establishing strong relationships, especially with senior leadership within the firm
  • Providing proactive and critical challenge to programmes in delivery in order to enable the successful delivery of tangible business outcomes
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, in order to align the investment planning cycle, strategic goals of the firm and the change roadmap. This will include a solid financial background able to demonstrate a full understanding of financial management and control at both a portfolio and project level
  • A good understanding of Change Management and benefits methodology is critical for this role, including thorough knowledge and experience of identifying, monitoring and benefits realization process across a portfolio
  • The ability to build and manage a high performing team and to create a sense of community amongst the often disparate members of the project teams
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment and assertiveness
