Job Description
Your responsibilities will be split between part compliance and part advisory work. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that the local finance teams (EMEA) are supported with tax advice and provide assistance with tax audits and tax compliance - allowing that the legal and statutory filing requirements are fulfilled within the required deadlines. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow within the organization over the next 2 years.
- Perform and oversee the accurate and timely filing of regional tax compliance including share scheme returns and other governmental compliance returns in respect of tax (some of which are outsourced to third parties).
- Prepare the tax working papers for the UK and review of EMEA tax working papers for the year end audit process.
- Assisting the UK finance team with the local statutory audit of tax work.
- Assist the EMEA Tax Director with the preparation and review of corporate tax computations, transfer pricing, Country By Country Reporting, hybrids and diverted profit tax reports.
- Assist finance teams with audits by tax authorities across EMEA, particularly group issues.
- Address the impacts of new tax legislation on the business across EMEA.
- Manage reorganizations, legal entity rationalization and partnering with lawyers and other external advisors.
- Partner and advice senior leaders (up to SVP).
- Translate complex tax matters to non-tax colleagues.
- Understanding EMEA Mattel strategy and the tax impacts plans.
- Excellent implementation (efficiency, on time, on budget, on quality).
- Maintain collaborative relations with the US tax team and within local finance teams in Europe.
- Understanding the complexities of tax within the local subsidiary entities.
