Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational and enthusiastic Head of Finance to make a name for themselves within the food service industry.
More about the role:

  • Operate in a finance business partner role, supporting the Central Regional Managing Director to manage their business to ambitious financial targets
  • Use trend analysis and forecasting to techniques to highlight risk and opportunity in a timely manner to maximize benefit to the business
  • Provide support and training to operational teams to ensure Operations Managers and Location Managers can maximize the operational efficiency of their teams and contracts
  • Identify and implement initiatives at a regional level to deliver sustainable operational improvements
  • Provide financial support for the management of one national contract that extends beyond the boundaries of the Central region but is managed by its MD
  • Support the regional month end process, reviewing proposed adjustments and challenging Operations Managers on performance
  • Support the mobilization of new contracts, including building realistic operating budgets, monitoring performance during initial trading and working with the Operations team to implement any corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Provide meaningful and insightful reporting an analysis to support regional operational review meetings
  • Work effectively as part of a wider team of 10 finance business partners
    • to identify and implement best practice opportunities across all regions
    • to develop and maintain an effective control environment
    • to continue to develop the existing business reporting environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ ACA/ACCA)
  • Experience of operating in a multi-site retail business
  • A motivated, self-starter with an enquiring and pro-active approach to work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be comfortable interacting across all levels of the business in formal and informal environments
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong commercial mind-set
  • A passion for delivering improvement
