Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the compliance and advisory requirements of a number of mainly Private Client Individuals. You will be providing general tax planning to the Firm’s clients along with tax advisory projects with the Associate Tax Director and Tax Partner.

The individual will be managing a small team of tax associates and tax seniors and have overall responsibility for the output of the team. Whilst the first few months would be office based, there is the potential for some homeworking thereafter.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a compliance portfolio of mainly personal and some partnership tax returns to include monitoring of billing and work in progress
• Meeting and liaising with clients and potential clients to discuss their tax affairs
• To assist in the review of tax returns prepared by more junior members of staff
• Managing a team of tax associates and tax seniors
• Involvement in the training of junior members of staff
• Involvement in tax planning issues including Capital Taxes
• To liaise proactively with clients on advisory matters
• To assist the Associate Tax Director and partners on complex technical assignments
• To assist in marketing Private Client taxation services with the Associate Tax Director and partners
• To attend networking events, in order to promote the firm, as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified tax professional - ATT, CTA, ACCA, ACA (or similar), or qualified by experience
• Minimum 5 year’s experience in dealing with personal tax issues
• Knowledge of trusts taxation is beneficial although not essential
• Confident and well organized
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to communicate at all levels
• Good IT Skills
• Thorough and methodical approach to work
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Adaptable to take on cases not specifically on your own allocation
• Ability to lead and manage team members
• Supports the development and training of others
