Job Description
  • Accountable for the European region accounting and financial close functions and processes
  • Review and approve submission of the regional reporting package
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and recommend accounting policy for complex transactions.
  • Support Corporate Tax team filings and tax computation
  • Oversee the control of Payables, Receivables/credit/collections & Payroll management Manage all audits including the year-end review, any regulatory audits and local statutory audit of the financial statements
  • Accountable for ensuring that the Company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial and bank reporting is timely, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP.
  • Preparation of the Company’s financial and management reports including internal monthly financial reporting of actuals versus budget and the quarterly statutory financial statements, notes and Management Discussion and Analysis.
  • Analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management's attention.
  • Partner with FP&A to support business leaders
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the recommendation and implementation of improved internal control processes.
  • Oversee the quarterly and annual external audit functions.
  • A leader in accounting and finance process improvements.
  • Lead implementation of Workday within brands
  • Support acquisition activity particularly integration activities
  • Provide support for activities related to deployment of Shared Service Center

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACA designation
  • Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
  • Preference will be given to Candidates having technical expertise reporting under Canadian GAAP (ASPE) and IFRS and those with public reporting experience.
  • 5+ year’s experience in a corporate accounting environment with solid technical accounting knowledge
  • 4+ year’s experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
  • Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred
  • Experience within a multi-national organization with strong knowledge of; currency, intercompany transaction and tax structures
  • Experience with small/ mid- size entrepreneurial environment with high growth
  • Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills preferably involved in conversion to IFRS
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Strong desire and capability to provide technical training to staff
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
  • Accountable for specific performance
  • Drive results, roll up sleeves action oriented, with demonstrated ability to work diligently with other finance professionals and leadership to deliver results

  • Good command of the English language and be able to proofread work
  • Able to read and interpret agreements, then implement the relevant provisions of these agreements
