Job Description

This position is part of the Financial Accounting function responsible for providing accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reporting to the Head Office in addition to monthly management accounting to the European business.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform key month end close procedures;
  • Manage the intercompany accounting process for all our legal entities ensuring that integrity is maintained in the underlying transactions, monthly reconciliations are prepared to enable identification and communication of risks and opportunities, monthly invoices are raised and settled, and corporate deliverables are submitted on a timely basis
  • Own the monthly foreign exchange reporting processes ensuring all journals are recorded and summary position is communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner;
  • Own the monthly Other Income reporting processes within the Financial Accounting Team liaising with other teams as appropriate to ensure that reporting is completed on a timely basis;
  • Manage the development of two direct reports through objective setting and performance appraisal, regular 1-2-1’s and coaching creating a great work environment and providing general leadership
  • Own the monthly IT P&L reporting processes within the Financial Accounting Team liaising with the Corporate IT Finance team to ensure that costs are controlled and reporting is completed to required deadlines;
  • Actively participate in the implementation of process improvements and new reporting and control requirements as necessary;
  • Ownership of the process to complete local GAAP Financial Statements for legal entities under the responsibility of the Intercompany Team;
  • Ensure the appropriate review and reporting of controls on a quarterly basis;
  • Other ad hoc tasks deemed as reasonable and appropriate by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant with proven post qualification experience in a multi-site environment;
  • A thorough understanding of closing routines / ability to ensure integrity of the general ledger in all areas of responsibility;
  • An understanding of intercompany accounting in compliance with local and US GAAP;
  • Flexibility in approach and a willingness to go beyond the defined role;
  • Experience of Financial Reporting in both US GAAP and local statutory reporting;
  • Ability to critically evaluate processes and oversee the execution of recommendations for improvement;
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels of the business;
  • Ability to business partner and explain financials to non-financial personnel;
  • Developed analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
