COMPANY

Our client is a leading law firm seeking to employ an apprentice as a solicitor's clerk/business administration. Due to recent growth the company is looking to take on new staff through a business administration qualification to work and develop within the business. They are a specialist within media, family & business law.

ROLE

As an apprentice solicitors clerk you will be supporting senior members or the company with day to day tasks inclusive of personal assistant and administration duties. You will be working a part of a team to improve response and efficiency within the office, working to support solicitors with new/ongoing caseloads and general office admin.

DUTIES

Your day to day duties can include:

  • Answering incoming calls, taking detailed messages and responding to/transferring in an appropriate manner.
  • Supporting the office to file and archive old documents in a safe, secure and confidential way in line with legal guidelines and company policies.
  • Arranging and managing appointments, court dates and day to day tasks of office members
  • Cash transactions and financial errands
  • Admin tasks including filing, scanning and faxing.
  • Typing, recording and posting incoming and outgoing mail.

REQUIRMENT

As this is an apprenticeship no previous experience is required, however you will need to meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for the role. Whether you have recent left school or college and are looking for your first step on the career ladder or even an alternative to further education an apprenticeship is the best path.

This is a admin centered role so the ideal candidate will need to be friendly and approachable, easily able to communicate with clients and customers (including courts) during telephone calls and office visitors, good knowledge of word, email and excel and be a fast and accurate at typing.

Previous experience working in an office environment and a keen interest/qualifications studying law is advantageous but not essential to the role.
