We also have a responsibility to manage the Commercial Bank balance sheet, achieving optimal trade-offs between balance sheet growth, income and economic return. This is the specific responsibility of the Portfolio Management team. We do this by working in close collaboration with other teams in Client Products, Coverage, Finance and Group Corporate Treasury.
The role will have responsibility for the creation and interlock of Liabilities pricing strategy in the context of wider Group and Commercial Bank funding requirements. This will include the management of day-to-day pricing requests, pricing and portfolio governance. Equally, there will be opportunities to analyze, identify, define and deliver pricing and income initiatives. The role will involve a broader suite of opportunities to get involved with wider team deliverables including forecasting, hedging, and client relationship value analysis, as well as a range of interesting projects to support the colleague with their own development.
Work produced by this team sets the agenda for Liabilities P&L across the division (a key focus for senior management) and is critical in providing recommendations to senior management in relation to strategy, income opportunities and optimal deployment of liquidity. A highly motivated and organized self-starter, with the ability to cut through complexity, ambiguity, and be able to communicate effectively.
