Job Description

We also have a responsibility to manage the Commercial Bank balance sheet, achieving optimal trade-offs between balance sheet growth, income and economic return. This is the specific responsibility of the Portfolio Management team. We do this by working in close collaboration with other teams in Client Products, Coverage, Finance and Group Corporate Treasury.
The role will have responsibility for the creation and interlock of Liabilities pricing strategy in the context of wider Group and Commercial Bank funding requirements. This will include the management of day-to-day pricing requests, pricing and portfolio governance. Equally, there will be opportunities to analyze, identify, define and deliver pricing and income initiatives. The role will involve a broader suite of opportunities to get involved with wider team deliverables including forecasting, hedging, and client relationship value analysis, as well as a range of interesting projects to support the colleague with their own development.
Work produced by this team sets the agenda for Liabilities P&L across the division (a key focus for senior management) and is critical in providing recommendations to senior management in relation to strategy, income opportunities and optimal deployment of liquidity. A highly motivated and organized self-starter, with the ability to cut through complexity, ambiguity, and be able to communicate effectively.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work alongside Pricing and Balance Sheet Directors to drive Liabilities pricing strategy
  • Articulation of pass on strategy and interlock through senior partners to deliver value for our clients, and optimize returns for shareholders
  • Share insight on Pricing trends, competitor and macro-economic impacts
  • Analyze and understand sectors and clients drivers to create price elasticity model/framework
  • Lead on and monitor day-to-day pricing requests to gain key pricing insights to feedback back into coverage and pricing framework
  • Support pricing governance and process
  • Communicate and manage key partners Coverage, Finance, Product and wider Portfolio Management team
  • Identify income opportunities via front book pricing and back book repricing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interpret the Group’s financial performance and metrics
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Understanding of the broader trends and changes impacting the banking industry, Lloyds Banking Group and our clients
  • Ability to explain a complicated concept concisely in order to set out and recommend key strategic decisions
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and highly motivated
  • Strong business sense, including operational awareness of the CB business
  • Be organized and have effective time management skills; being able to support the team on multiple priorities at any one time
