Job Description

The role of Assistant Finance Manager is to support the Group Finance Manager in leading and coaching the Finance Team, to manage and advise on all relevant finance and accounts administration and to review and prepare management information for the Group Finance Manager and Finance Director.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with the Team Leaders (Treasury and Management Accounts) to supervise and manage day to day works; sales ledger, purchase ledger and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Preparation of Management Accounts
  • Support the Management Accounts team to ensure the completion of the Profit & Loss, balance Sheet and Cash flow on a monthly basis to agreed timetable, including:
    • Reconciliation of nominal ledger account
    • Reviewing and processing monthly journals including prepayments and accruals
    • Maintaining other reconciliation schedules required for both balance sheet & profit & loss reporting to ensure all are fully reconciled before month end closure
    • Maintaining fixed asset register and posting monthly depreciation journals
    • Intercompany reconciliations ensuring figures are updated in IC Matrix and investigate variances
  • Chair management accounts meetings to review variances on key P&L accounts and report finding to the Group Finance Manager and Finance Director
  • Ensure the Management Accounts for the UK entities are submitted accurately and on time, every month.
  • Ensure compliance with input and output VAT regulations on all transactions.
  • All reporting to be completed with a high degree of accuracy
  • Continuously monitor and improve Group processes, increasing efficiencies and reducing process time and errors
  • Support Group Finance Manager in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, analysis reports and ad-hoc tasks.

The role of Assistant Finance Manager will pay £40,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience and qualification status. The company offer a hybrid and flexible working arrangement, together with benefits including medical plans


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good numeracy and technical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication/ presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
  • Highly organized
  • Able to prioritize to ensure deliverable targets are achieved
