Job Description

Our client, a high growth group with impressive strategy to continue expanding market share and become a firm industry leader, is looking to hire a dynamic Divisional Financial Controller to join its talented team.
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial reporting, commercials, treasury, AP/AR functions of two companies within the group. This is a broad role, with good mix of responsibilities, as well as exposure to senior management. There will be plenty of future opportunity to move around the group and progress, demonstrated by many of the current Controllers and Senior Finance Leads.
Main duties include:

• Managing 2 direct reports who are responsible for the day to day running and financial management (general ledger, transactions etc.)
• Supervising the month end process and the production of management accounts
• Reviewing management accounts including details monthly P&L reviews and challenge of balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities
• Producing accurate and insightful MI and KPI analysis
• Producing monthly board summaries, discussing financial performance and position of companies
• Reviewing monthly/quarterly VAT returns submitted to HMRC
• Liaising with Commercial Teams regarding financial performance of contracts and companies
• Delivering annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts
• Managing the production and reviewing year end audit packs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
• Strong communicator and leadership skills
• Ability to challenge the status quo
• Strong mix of accounting and reporting, as well as commercial and analytical skills
• Self-starter who can manage and priorities deadlines
• Ambitious nature, keen to add value wherever possible
• Experience of working in the construction/property/building services sector would be advantageous
