The R&D Tax Consultancy role is an excellent opportunity to manage and develop a portfolio of clients, which undertake qualifying research and development projects. The role will be a mixture of working from the office with flexibility of working from home.
Reporting to the owner of the business, the role will involve
Managing a small and growing portfolio of SME clients
Liaising with existing clients to determine whether they have qualifying projects.
Arranging and attending meetings with clients to discuss the technical and financial details of their projects to help create a robust R&D tax claim.
Writing the technical narrative and preparing the financial schedules, following the meeting with the client.
Preparing CT600s and corporation tax computations.
Determining the different options for losses and communicating these with clients.
Liaising with accountants and company decision makers by email, phone, face to face and video call.
Making submissions to HMRC and liaising with them if needed.
Advising clients on increasing their R&D tax claims and minimising the risk of enquiry.
Developing new relationships with accountancy firms and maintaining existing relationships.

At least 1 year of experience of working within R&D tax
Highly motivated
Outstanding 'people' skills with experience of client facing with confidence
Able to simplify complicated tax advice
Exceptional written skills and strong numerical proficiency
