Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for the design and implementation of best practice surrounding
operational risk management within the Finance / Treasury Function. The principle aim of the role is to develop the risk framework within the Finance / Treasury Function via the design and embedding of a scalable control environment to drive greater efficiency and accuracy.

  • Provide 1st Line oversight on the activities undertaken by the Finance & Treasury Function
  • Responsible for incident management / reporting of Finance & Treasury activities
  • Develop and monitor EUC Controls on key financial models.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual review of finance related policies, procedures, and process maps
  • Provide risk oversight to the assessment of and subsequent implementation of Finance software solutions, in the delivery of operational change across Finance & Treasury
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Business Critical Information Assessments (BCIA)
  • Support the Treasurer and Finance Director in the maintenance of RCSAs
  • Own and coordinate the execution of the 1st Line Monitoring Plan
  • Act as the Finance & Treasury Data Steward and support companywide developments on Data Governance
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of developments in the Risk Management of Treasury and Finance activities
  • Provide support to financing transactions, delivering timely and accurate data to external counterparties.
  • Provide risk oversight to the delivery of the Annual Treasury Funding Plan and wider Finance activities
  • Undertake Horizon Scanning with regards to regulatory change and developments
  • Ensure activities are supported by the appropriate level of internal control procedures, mechanisms and ongoing review and enhancement
  • Work closely with the Head of Treasury Operations to ensure financing arrangements and ongoing requirements are understood and embedded into ongoing operations.
  • Attendance at committee meetings as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A sound commercial acumen and excellent understanding of Enterprise Risk
  • Deep understanding of the control principles and operating environment for Finance / Treasury activities
  • Excellent communication, leadership, relationship building and influencing skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyze large amounts of data quickly
  • Proven project management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication that is articulate and delivered professionally.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and other data software skills
  • Commercially astute, pragmatic, value-based decision maker
  • The self-confidence/appetite to drive operational change
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team
  • Experience of a regulatory environment
  • Financial services experience
