Job Description

Produce regular reports with insight and analysis for the Credit department. Perform a key co-ordination and control role over Credit to assist with the smooth running of the various committees and provide day-to-day operational support and monitoring of the Credit Risk systems in conjunction with Risk IT. Work with key Credit business stakeholder to regularly assess reporting needs and liaise with Risk Change team to facilitate these reporting requirements.

Although the role will initially be focused on Credit Risk, the longer term aspiration of the team is to reduce the silos between risk disciplines and therefore in time the role may expand to cover other risk types such as Market Risk.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting:

  • Oversee & Coordinate the preparation and distribution of various credit reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for Credit portfolio management purposes. This includes:
    o Extract relevant data, analyze and explain movements.
    o Gather input information / feedback from relevant business stakeholders.
    o Distribute to relevant stakeholders and committees.
    o Facilitate ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Review reports produced by other team members.
  • Work with stakeholders and colleagues to continuously improve reporting scope and processes.

Credit Oversight & Review Forum (CORF):

  • Manage the coordination of CORF preparation and circulation of the pack (agenda, minutes from the previous meeting, various reports and logs).
  • Ensure appropriate control over the documents accordingly (agenda, minutes, credit approvals).

Other Credit Administrative Duties:

  • Manage the compilation and reporting of annual reviews KRI (key risk indicators) statistics, monthly updates on status logs & comments for reporting.
  • Manage and assist with the preparation for Credit Committee meetings as needed.
  • Maintain a log of Credit Committee meetings and associated actions.
  • Track any Audit Items, Operational Risk actions etc. and follow up with action owners to help ensure actions are addressed.

Transaction and Product Support

  • Working with Credit officers and front office to ensure new transactions or products are adequately captured in reporting
  • Responding to queries on reviewing exposure calculations (with support from Risk Methodologies & Analytics) when queried by front office or Credit officers

Credit Application & Post Credit Approval:

  • Manage the Annual Review list in co-ordination with Credit Managers on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain review list, approval condition list and delegated authority approvals list and provide a track record for audit trail and review.

Credit Support Operations (Credit Limit Monitoring, Credit Rating and Financial Statement Spreading systems):

  • Oversee the maintenance of Delegated Authority and Credit Manager user profiles in the Credit Limit Monitoring system.
  • System user set-up and maintenance in the Credit Rating and Financial Statement Spreading systems.
  • Manage the general data maintenance in the credit systems (e.g. counterparty, agreement, limit, trade, Liquidity bands and market data).
  • Assist users with queries where relevant.
  • Manage the daily data, weekly and monthly quality reviews and reconciliations to ensure completeness of data provided to and from the credit systems.
  • Follow up with the relevant teams to resolve gaps and issues.
  • Support minor credit system enhancements (functional specifications and testing).
  • Support project initiatives from a user perspective (functional requirements and testing).
  • Train and support new joiners and junior staff where relevant.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate discipline.
  • Prior banking or financial institutions experience is preferred, with a level of credit risk and product knowledge.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
