Job Description

We are rapidly developing our plans and business case for a new hospital in Harlow in which to provide our services, working closely with our health and care partners, community teams and a wide range of stakeholders. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the team that delivers this.
We have four ambitious goals within our finance team which will be key to our success:

  • Delivering a finance improvement programme in the finance team to help us on our journey to offer our teams a first class service
  • Supporting our Trust to deliver our new hospital
  • Becoming Future-Focused Finance (FFF) accredited
  • Developing our joint procurement transformation programme with our Integrated Care System (ICS) partners

You will be a key member of the finance department and will provide leadership both within the finance team and as a senior leader across the organization. This role can make a significant difference to our patients, our people and community.
You will have a demonstrated track record of delivery and exceptional leadership skills which highlight how you have driven forward improvements within complex environments, which are aligned to a longer-term vision and strategy.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career towards a Board level role as you will work closely with the Director of Finance and the wider executive team.
You will have the day-to-day responsibility for the operation and development of the Finance Department, ensuring that the department maintains a consistently high standard of service to the Trust.
This responsibility will include all aspects of financial management, financial reporting, income and contracting and financial systems. The post holder will be responsible for leading the Trust’s financial planning cycle, including setting effective budgets, a coherent capital programme, plans for management of cash and working capital and working with colleagues to ensure that there is an appropriate productivity and efficiency programme.
You will work with the Integrated Care System procurement team to ensure that the Trust receives the required level of service. The post holder will also deputise for the Director of Finance at internal and external events as required.
You’ll be part of the team leading and supporting our organization in a diverse and challenging role; a role which can make a significant difference to our patients, people and the future direction of our services.
