Job Description

This role is an outstanding opportunity to work with the Senior Manager on active portfolio management initiatives. These initiatives span the full product suite, focusing on optimizing the portfolio in terms of both capital and returns. This role will enable you to:

  • Become a key part of the Portfolio Management team, working to improve and manage our credit risk mitigation tools on behalf of the Commercial Bank
  • Work with colleagues across Coverage, Product, Credit and Finance to highlight opportunities where credit risk mitigation tools could be used
  • Analyze data from across multiple sources to scope out opportunities to deploy active portfolio management solutions, showing what impact this would have from a limit, risk and Capital perspective
  • Actively maintain relationships with both internal partners and external network to provide a continuous flow of opportunities to i) support customers approaching credit limits, and ii) support the Bank to reduce risk
  • Develop understanding of active portfolio management options, helping to bring these solutions to the forefront of credit and pricing conversations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong business sense, including operational awareness of the Commercial & Institutional Banking business
  • Ability to work as part of a small team to develop and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Division
  • Great communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to explain complicated concepts concisely and fully to less familiar audiences
  • An analytical mind / approach to work; able to analyse key themes using a wide range of datasets to help understand impacts on the business
  • Experience of managing clients with more complex banking needs is desirable but not required
  • A good grasp of our products and services will be beneficial for understanding and meeting client needs
  • Strong relationship management skills are required to build and maintain positive links with internal and external groups
  • Be organized and able to support the design, development and execution of organizational change plans which align to the organization’s overall strategy
  • Engage with our business to understand long-term strategic challenges
  • Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analyzing sophisticated and diverse information sources
  • Understand the Group’s capital management framework and client returns.
