This university is a market leader in their field, with a tailored approach to both student and teacher excellence, creating a well renowned brand. With growing student numbers and new enterprise activity, they are now looking to recruit a Head of Finance to provide team leadership and financial decision making support to the executive team.

• Collaborate with senior colleagues to drive forward change and improvement across the finance function. Actively contribute to the overall development of the department including taking personal responsibility for specific financial projects, programmes
• Monitor the general ledger accounts related to the transactional teams, working closely with the Financial Accounting Team to ensure that all control account reconciliations are accurately produced in accordance with the monthly and year-end timetable
• Responsibility for treasury management, including the day to day management of overnight funds and placing of longer-term deposits.
• Lead and motivate the Financial Services Team, which comprises the Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Cash Office teams (10 staff). This includes ensuring that staff development needs are met and regular performance reviews held.
• Provide regular high quality management information, for example aged debtor and creditor analysis and metrics to support decisions to adjust resources or prove efficiencies
• Ad Hoc analysis/ process improvements to create efficiencies within the team and organization

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ICA, CIMA, ICAEW)
• Experience with transactional finance
• Management experience
• Strong stakeholder management
• Strong technical skills and problem solving mindset
