Job Description

The purpose of the role is to partner with Relationship Managers and Product Partners in providing insight and advice to corporate clients on financing opportunities and challenges, based on an in depth understanding of their needs and in furtherance of origination efforts. This can be directly or in conjunction with the senior members within the Capital Structure Advisory (CSA) team. CSA is responsible for proactive idea generation and product-independent solution development as well as for pitch coordination, delivery and follow up

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will be focused on partnering Client Coverage, directly and together with senior CSA staff, to deliver (and leverage) insightful and relevant content to client dialogue. More specifically, this will entail:

  • Providing, or assisting in providing, well researched, reasoned and presented analysis around potential or actual client situations and strategies (leveraging financial modelling where appropriate), including through the reviewing of differing capital structure options, assessing of working capital approaches, estimating of debt capacity (under defined hypotheses) and the presenting peer analysis (inter alia).
  • Assisting in identifying the needs of clients and potential solutions in response to these needs, in partnership with all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Providing, or assist in providing, relevant and insightful input into (often multi-product) client pitches and discussions that furthers client relationships.
  • Jointly delivering relevant pitches with Coverage and others, ensuring nuanced communication of storyline, to maximize client impact and to facilitate effective follow up.
  • Assist the Director or Executive Director in actively engaging with clients, establishing a role as a trusted partner / thought leader in respect of areas of team competence.
  • Assist the Director or Executive Director in actively producing thought leadership around corporate finance and sector themes and trends.
  • Active participation in account planning, support in regular dialogue with clients, as well contribution to an array of business initiatives.
  • The coaching and support of others in the team, and beyond where appropriate.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations, in collaboration with risk and control partners where appropriate.

Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters, not only responding to requests for advice, but where appropriate taking the initiative in volunteering advice the need for which may not have been appreciated

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong analytical ability (accounting, financial modelling, credit ratings, etc.)
  • 4-7 years of previous experience of a similar role
  • Banking experience with understanding of investment and commercial banking products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to 'manage' demands from peers, clients and other stakeholders
