This group of College's are market leaders in their field, with a tailored approach to both student and teacher excellence, creating a well renowned brand. They are now looking to recruit a Head of Finance to provide team leadership and financial decision making support to the executive team.

• To line manage the Finance department and its staff effectively and efficiently.
• To assist the Group Director - Finance and Resource Planning in the preparation of financial plans for budget holders and assist budget holders in the control and use of their budgets.
• To assist the Group Director - Finance and Resource Planning in resource planning of the College group.
• To review the viability of courses regularly and to work closely relevant staff and with the Deputy Funding Manager Planning to ensure appropriate costing and viability of courses included in the portfolio.
• To monitor review and report on the progress of the Apprenticeship and Commercial work to ensure income is maximized.
• To oversee payroll staff and processes as required, to ensure accurate payments are made to staff in line with budgets and post requisition changes.
• Produce monthly management accounts to strict deadlines.
• Assist the Group Director - Finance and Resource Planning with the production of the annual report and financial statements, and returns to statutory and funding bodies.
• Ensure the integrity of the nominal ledger and provide monthly reconciliations of the bank and other key control accounts.
• Maintain the finance department risk register.
• Ad Hoc analysis/ process improvements to create efficiencies within the team and organization

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ICA, CIMA, ICAEW)
• Strong all-rounder accounting experience
• Management experience
• Education or commercial experience desired
• Strong stakeholder management
• Strong technical skills and problem solving mindset
