Job Description
The successful candidate will help with overseeing and shaping the risk management practice at one of the largest futures and options clearing houses in the world. You will be joining a very dynamic team, be exposed to a wide range of asset classes and be challenged with complex risk problems. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day risk management and work on improvement and enhancements, including identifying, developing and overseeing the implementation of new risk management tools and techniques to enhance the risk management process and risk controls. You will also contribute towards the design and implementation of new risk initiatives and products that benefit the business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the risk management framework and risk policies are being adhered to and are consistent with regulatory and industry standards
- Monitor model performance tests and assess the appropriateness of models in order to demonstrate policy adherence
- Identify areas where the risk models, risk management processes, or infrastructure can be improved
- Strike the right balance between complying with global regulatory standards with achieving commercial business requirements
- Lead the design and implementation of model enhancement and improvements to risk infrastructure and processes
- Conduct mathematical/statistical analysis to calibrate and enhance risk models
- Collaborate with a group of colleagues on key policy and methodology development
- Work with and present to the board, various risk committees and the regulators overseeing company
- Frequent communication with representatives from clearing members, risk committees and senior management
- Documentation and presentation of risk polices and models to clearing members, regulators, risk committees and other governance bodies
- Conduct project work and run thematic or ad-hoc market research on relevant risk topics
- Lead a team of risk managers and analysts to foster a strong risk culture
