Job Description

We are looking for Associate Directors to work on a wide range of transactions, advising funds, institutional investors and borrowers undertaking transactions in the credit and restructuring markets. These can range from lending and borrowing, or buying and selling debt, to rescuing overleveraged businesses and supporting key stakeholders, and building long term relationships with those businesses and stakeholders as they recover and grow through further transactions.

You will be an integral member of the team, managing a portfolio of high profile clients and projects, developing and leading your own client relationships and developing more junior team members. You will be working alongside partners and directors in client teams as well as within wider global project teams.

In this team, your role in the group would encompass some or all of the following:

  • Advising on a broad array of tax issues across a range of transactions and situations.
  • Managing and developing key relationships with clients, other members of the Credit & Restructuring team, and the wider network of tax and non-tax specialists.
  • Managing diverse teams (including from other member firms) within an inclusive and collaborative team culture, where people are recognized for their contribution.
  • Contributing to the eminence of our team within the wider tax practice and in the market through knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
  • Contributing to the growth and success of our team by supporting the professional development of our junior team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience and / or knowledge of any of private equity, credit or real estate funds and how they negotiate and invest would be preferred but not necessarily essential
  • A good appreciation of tax law and practice with strong attention to detail
  • Preferably qualified ACA or ATT / CTA or equivalent qualification and experience, or legal background
  • Ability to build strong relationships and articulate complex ideas in a pragmatic and commercial way
  • A team player that takes ownership of projects, uses initiative to resolve problems and works well under pressure, with the ability to adapt to change rapidly and respond to clients appropriately
