Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, world class Group Controller. This role will manage all aspects of the finance function (excluding FP&A) and will be responsible for setting the tone and direction of all activities. It is expected that the successful candidate will have the maturity and gravitas to represent finance in senior cross departmental meetings. We are looking for an individual who can develop the finance team as a Centre of excellence and be true business partners to the rest of the company.

In addition, the successful candidate will get the opportunity to help shape the future of Orbus Finance by driving the upcoming NetSuite implementation and future finance systems strategy and projects.
Core Responsibilities: 

  • Ownership and development of the group finance function, including group reporting, management reporting and tax and treasury
  • Take responsibility and ownership for the implementation of appropriate policies, procedures and processes to ensure an effective control environment.
  • Providing key strategic information to the leadership to inform decision making and drive business performance.
  • Internal reporting, including consolidated monthly management accounts, and ad hoc reporting to business with the ability to refresh and develop reporting to ensure it remains insightful and fit for purpose.
  • External reporting, including drafting of board packs and management of reporting to lenders, investors, and other key external stakeholders.
  • Day-to-day relationships with lenders and funders, including covenant compliance and robust cash forecasting.
  • Management of external audit and development and documentation of strong internal controls framework to support rapid future growth.
  • Maintenance of up-to-date technical knowledge of IFRS within the team ownership of group and subsidiary accounting policies.
  • Ownership of statutory accounts and tax filings (covering corporate, payroll and sales taxes) in the UK and overseas; and
  • Treasury management, including credit control, multi-currency FX and hedging strategies.
  • Assistance in the preparation of share issue and option filings
  • Other Ad Hoc projects & duties, such as tax planning and refinancing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification experience
  • Experience at controller level within an international SaaS organization
  • Experience of managing and developing finance teams
  • Can do attitude not afraid to roll up sleeves and pitch in when required
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience of using and developing a integrated ERP solution
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities.
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills.
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience of using NetSuite would be advantageous
  • Experience of salesforce would be advantageous
