Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Risk & Compliance Officer to join a dynamic and innovative RegTech (Regulatory Technology) Startup to report to the CEO. This business is backed by an industry consortium of financial service market leaders and equipped with decades of industry experience and advanced technologies along with 35 global banks already signed up to use this unique service.

You will create and lead the development and implementation of the company compliance program, where your sound commercial judgment will help to best improve the risk culture for the company. You will act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Management Board, where you'll gain the credibility and gravitas to work effectively as a member of the management team. Your level of experience for this role requires you to lead the entire Risk & Compliance function where you'll deliver the company framework for risk management and governance, whilst being constantly aware of possible commercial risks which might impact the business. As this business is still growing, unlike many Risk Management roles, you will be exposed to every major business change across all departments where you will drive compliance and data protection into everyday business language.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The Candidate must have a minimum of 8yrs risk and compliance management working knowledge & experience gained from a leading business. Must be capable to work effectively within a fast-growth technology environment; ideally with a financial services environment and have a good understanding of Sanctions Screening, Payments, and Outsourcing requirements. Must have strong leadership skills and be accomplished in negotiating, advising, and reviewing a broad range of Risk & Compliance matters. Candidates with working experience gained within the technology and/or IT Industry would be highly advantageous but not essential.
