Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Reporting Manager to join the Finance team. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for preparation of consolidated financial statements; Group revenue and cost of goods, management of a team and preparation of IFRS 15 technical accounting papers. Our Finance team provide financial reporting, control, and accountancy across the business.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Preparation consolidated financial statements for the half year and year end as part of the published glossy Annual Report
  • Management of the UK monthly Revenue and Gross Margin calculations, accounting and reporting processes and procedures and distribution of the Monthly Revenue result across the business
  • Line management of the revenue and cost of goods accounting teams
  • Lead the team responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts including all primary statements, ensuring that the accounts issued are on a timely basis
  • Responsibility for critical areas of accounting, such as revenues, accounts receivables, deferred and accrued revenues, cost of goods sold and gross margin
  • Preparation of technical IFRS 15 accounting papers & related policies.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial contract terms in terms of invoicing, revenue recognition and other commercial finance terms & conditions
  • Full ownership for the review and management of the sales invoice process, ensuring collaborating with project managers to ensure the accurate & timely sales invoices and revenue accruals process
  • Review of the Cost of Goods Sold entries and Project Margin reviews supporting the team to ensure that correct project cost allocations, including timesheets are made
  • Building of good relationships with wider business to ensure Finance has the required understanding of the Gross Margin transactions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Proven qualified relevant industry or technical experience
  • Good understanding of and ability to apply IFRS accounting standards.
  • Understanding of financial reporting and processes in a complex business environment
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems (IFS beneficial), processes and transactions to be able to respond to business needs from a finance perspective
  • Understanding of basic project management principles for key projects and delivery initiatives
  • Proficient within Good Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel
  • Proven people management experience and competency
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to support wider business collaboration.
