Job Description

Our client a leading firm of Accountants are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller reporting to the overseas Parent Company of two UK based and one European entity. The FC will be responsible for the complete management of the finance function. The role will be in the business services division and working as part of a larger team but with responsibility for one client.

Responsibilities

• Management of complete AP & AR including making/posting payments, invoices, statements etc.
• GL Management including JNL postings (accruals/prepayments/recurring entries)
• Bank Reconciliations
• Stock Management (goods inwards/obsolescence etc.)
• Updating supplier/stock pricing
• UK VAT Returns quarterly
• ROI VAT Returns bi-monthly
• Knowledge of UK/EU import/export procedures advantageous but not essential
• Consolidated monthly management accounts
• Assist in yearly audit queries
• Assist with client reporting and enquires
• Communication with franchisees on an ad-hoc basis
• Supervising a junior member of staff
• Knowledge of SAGE300 ERP advantageous but not essential

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Previous experience gained within an accountancy practice or Industry and the ability to undertake both simple and more complex bookkeeping tasks
• The ability to prepare management accounts for companies and other entities and handle more complex accounting matters
• The ability to understand documents and data and write clear letters and emails
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Organized and methodical

• Ability to work under own initiative
• Experience of Xero, Sage and other accounting software
• Experience of Sage 300 would be a benefit but not essential - this is the main accounting software used
• Ability to deal with all levels of personnel
