Job Description

The role has management responsibility for the Consolidation Reporting team (2 employees as well any additional interim end and year end support contractors), including their personal development in role and into other roles within the organization.

You will be the company's IFRS technical lead and will also advise senior management on the appropriate accounting treatments for complex transactions, including considering the external reporting implications. The person will be expected to communicate well with staff throughout the business and will have experience of multinational consolidations under IFRS.

Twice a year (and one of the key deliverables for this role) is that you will be responsible for delivering the interim end and year end reporting results for the company. This will involve directly liaising with external auditors and other departments both externally and internally and preparing for publish the financial statement section of the Annual Report public document.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA
• Proven experience of consolidation accounting and applying IFRS for an international organization (either directly or from external audit experience)
• Proven experience of leading a professional team and motivating and managing across functions
• Ability to generate solutions to technical accounting problems
• Technically very strong with high level of awareness of IFRS and UK GAAP, including cash flow reporting, non-GAAP measures, impairment assessment, acquisition accounting, forex
• Consolidation accounting and new accounting standards etc.
• Ability to develop efficient and effective solutions to complex problems and identify and implement process improvements
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in both head office and the global operating divisions and various business sites
• Experience working on consolidations for a group with multi-currencies
• Experience of delivering a significant contribution to year end accounts for an international plc group company
• Experience in preparing Annual Financial Reports for publication
