Manage, support, and continue to build company’s commercial lending offerings and solutions to clients
P&L budgeting responsibility, ensuring that the practice holds the right balance of people, skills, and availability to meet current and future demand pipeline
Responsible for understanding customer needs in commercial lending space, including underwriting, risk rating processes, regulations, compliance, portfolio monitoring, collaterals, loan recovery/resolution among others
Responsible for working in conjunction with the Sales team, actively managing the solutioning stages of the sales process.
Act as the key commercial lending solution architect and advocate of company’s related offerings
Lead client meetings (online and offline) to determine business and methodological requirements and architect solutions based on each client use case and our product/service suite
Establish and grow relationships with clients by driving home the value proposition that company brings to the table
Document market feedback regarding experience with company’s solutions and desired enhancements
Provide thought leadership to the market by writing articles and professional blogs.
Represent us and commercial lending vertical in external and internal conferences
Participate in industry advocacy efforts with industry associations, regulators and standard setters by presenting articles, white papers, webinars and workshops
Manage, lead, and mentor a team of credit specialists and grow future skills from within the existing credit risk pool based on market demand.
Align practice management duties with wider company strategic initiatives to create a culture of collaboration, to serve with integrity and foster an inclusive environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
Deep domain understanding and at least 12 years of experience in commercial lending life cycle (including origination, underwriting, risk rating processes, regulations, compliance, portfolio monitoring, loan recovery/resolution)
Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills with ability to listen to requirements and business problems to respond with the appropriate solution
Knowledge of existing and evolving regulations impacting the commercial lending space; credit documentation and commercial lending products
Proven experience with franchise and market outreach activities
Strong leadership experience and mentoring skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment and work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to travel
PhD or MBA
Industry affiliation and leadership roles (e.g. RMA, GARP, PRMIA, regional banking association)
Public speaking experience, publications and/or internal lead on training within an organization
Ability to influence and gain buy-in from skeptics
