The Project Director will lead the Leisure Insourcing Programme through a transformation that shapes the service and business operational strategy. In addition, you will client the procurement and construction of a new leisure Centre in collaboration with the Council’s Capital Programme Team.
This role demands vision, passion, and inspirational leadership to build a high-performing and collaborative project team involving technical and design teams, directorate representatives (including leisure service, finance, legal, procurement, asset management, and HR colleagues).
The role requires commercial experience of large scale capital projects, complex negotiations and procurement experience for both contractors and specialist service providers, the ability to work and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and decision makers, such as politicians, senior leaders, service users and funding agencies. The Project Director must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally in appropriate detail for all stakeholders.
You will be responsible for one Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Project Manager and a 0.5 FTE Project Manager, running the project specific PMO.
This post will report directly to the Director of Commissioning and Culture, with the Programme accountable to the monthly programme board overseeing this work.
You will have a strong track record of strategy development, delivering transformational change with excellent programme management experience.
