Job Description
This is a permanent senior leadership role within the International Finance team. The role will lead all aspects operational finance for the International Travel business. The incumbent will business partner with the local senior leadership teams to develop and execute growth strategies, ensuring compliance with legislation and Group policy.
The role will oversee all aspects of the safeguarding of client funds and will own the financial control and reporting in this regard. Attention to detail is key, as the daily bank, scheme and general ledger reconciliations of prefunded client balances are reported to the regulator, with any errors having the potential to trigger an interruption to trade. The incumbent will also lead the working capital aspects of the development of a new consolidated prefunding and credit system, as part of the integration of a business acquired. The role will also work closely with the customers to assess risk, maximize working capital and ensure that funds are available to enable customers to grow their business.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Team & Business Leadership – directly leading a team of 7 and frequent indirect leadership of a number of other teams. Driving a positive culture, in a demanding environment, is key.
- Reporting - Provide timely and accurate reports internally and externally in
accordance with Corporate guidance.
- Commercial Business Partnering – Work with local and international leadership teams to develop and execute strategic plans. IT partnering will be key to drive efficiencies and successful development of the new platform.
- Client Engagement – develop trust and cadence with clients to ensure that funds are available and accurately reported. Work on plans to maximize spend via client working capital optimization initiatives.
- Compliance, Risk Management & Control - Ensure compliance with Group policy, regulatory standards, local law and accounting standards. Ensure external filing deadlines are met. A number of key clients have SOC 1 reporting requirements.
- Integration & business improvement – lead all financial aspects of working capital integration and systems development. Drive automation, risk management and efficiencies into manual processes.
- Board representation – the successful candidate will sit on the boards of a number of the regulated entities.
- Treasury & Credit – Liaising with clients and group treasury to maximize working capital for company and its customers. Assess and monitor risk within Group Credit guidelines.
