Job Description

You’ll be ensuring that the Business Units and Central Functions are appropriately assessed for financial crime risk and to identify the strength of the controls in place to mitigate the risks.

You’ll play a key role in assessing changes in the product/service offering, major process changes, and I.T. enhancements to ensure that initiatives within company are compliant with FC requirements.

You’ll be working closely with other teams to develop and interpret risk assessment methodology, execute a number of key risk assessment activities, and ensure any required actions to close any gaps identified have been identified, escalated, and are tracked using the appropriate governance mechanism.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Maintaining and developing the risk-based approach to conducting the required risk assessment activities;
  • Completing, FC Business Units Risk Assessments (BURAs); undertaking a review of inherent risks and controls against policy, standards, and risk appetite;
  • Completing assessments of new products and services, and any material changes to those already existing;
  • Conducting assessments of non-financial crime owned I.T. and process changes, identifying risks and control weaknesses
  • Providing documented risk assessment outcomes for senior stakeholder sign off to ensure business areas are aware of their FC risk exposure and control weaknesses, and that control weaknesses or residual risks outside of appetite are addressed;
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for the business and supporting the wider Risk Assessment team by collaborating with all team members and providing advice and guidance to the analysts.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the bank’s capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crimes, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers.

  • Subject matter expertise across a broad section of Financial Crime disciplines
  • Extensive experience of conducting FC risk assessments within a corporate banking environment
  • Experience of working in high performing teams and supporting the development of direct reports and peers 
  • Ability to review critical information and to advise on the correct decision
  • Track record of developing/managing relationships with multiple key stakeholders
  • Industry recognized Financial Crime Qualification
