Job Description
  • Balancing accounts ('double bookkeeping')
  • Dealing with basic bookkeeping
  • Processing and paying sales and purchase invoices
  • Recording receipts and payments, including credit control
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Preparing, checking and reconciling ledger balances and other monthly and yearly accounts
  • Completing and submitting VAT returns
  • Handling company expenses and payroll systems
  • Using computerized accounting systems
  • Reconciling  bank statements
  • Preparing cash flow statements
  • Preparing monthly management accounts pack (potentially in the future)
  • Any ad-hoc finance enquiries, processing pension schedules, commissions, sales analysis

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • At least five years’ experience working in a small or medium sized business
  • Accounting qualifications, such as AAT or equivalent
  • Highly computer literate with very good knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of accounting 
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly, and can manage own priorities
  • Ability to highlight areas for improvement
  • Attention to detail and logical approach to problem solving
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and honest

  • VAT
