Job Description

The Finance Manager -FP&A is an exciting role which has been created in order to give the right level of focus to our planning processes with a fantastic opportunity to add real value through the planning cycle.

A diverse role, it will involve aspects of modelling our business through the 5 year plan and working with teams to deliver regular in-year forecasts as well as the budget for the following year. You’ll need the resilience to deal with an ever-changing environment and the flexibility to deal with changing priorities.

You will have stakeholders across Finance, both in Group and Commercial, and will have to work closely with the business to ensure that we deliver the FP&A that company needs. We would anticipate fast career development in this role looking to move into a Senior Manager role within the next 12-18 months

What else will you be doing?

  • Significant input and ownership of key tasks through the planning cycle.
  • The role will support the Senior Finance Manager in the delivery of bi-annual (and potentially rolling monthly) forecasting, the budget and 5 year plan.
  • Development and ownership of annual planning calendar, including how we will engage across the Group and with our external relationships
  • Owning the 5 year plan model is key to the success of the role.
  • Developing an understanding of how the model works including key assumptions / drivers, implementing improvements whilst also owning assumptions within the model.
  • An important part of the process is ensuring the business signs up to key assumptions within the model so stakeholder engagement is key.
  • Establish significant improvements in the budget process whilst ensuring feedback is acted upon from the finance teams. There is an opportunity to significantly improve this process and potentially deliver real efficiencies in terms of resource required.
  • Tracking and assisting the delivery of budgeted savings plans.
  • Transparency will be gained through an understanding of how we are delivering against this task on a monthly basis and ensuring we report upwards to the CFO and Executive Team.
  • There will be times when you will need to support the wider FP&A team in activities such as period end, data analysis, investor relations support, shareholder communication, budgets, forecasts and long-range planning.
  • You will be a SME in our financial planning systems You need to be comfortable operating at all levels across finance. Accuracy and attention to detail are key to being successful in this role

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ideally 7+ years’ experience in a Finance based role, preferably with strong experience in commercial finance and FP&A
  • Relevant accounting qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CFA)
  • Experience in evolving, complex and challenging businesses
  • High levels of resilience and positivity, High EQ and excellent stakeholder management capabilities
  • Self-driven to both begin and complete projects with a willing to take a hands-on approach to solving business problems
  • Personable, open, fun, flexible and hard working with the ability to be strong in their dealings with others.
  • Excellent communication skills as the role requires interaction across all operational functions of the business, both financial and non-financial, while retaining good relationships
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, demonstrating high levels of accuracy, thoroughness and reliability whilst coping under pressure
  • Candidates must be logical, self-motivated, proactive, have an eye for detail, confident to challenge business partners and comfortable operating within an environment of substantial change
