Job Description
You will play a key role within our ambitious and successful organization and have a broad and varied remit. You will ultimately take ownership of all aspects of financial management for the Business. You will be responsible for providing and developing a full system of financial control, reporting, insight and forecasting to the Leadership Team. It is essential that all information is provided in a clear, timely and accurate manner to support and influence decision making and that it satisfies expected reporting requirements.
You will be evaluating and reviewing the current Finance department structure, processes, and systems to ensure best practice, efficiency, and constant improvement. Ensuring financial systems and processes are robust and that a clear delegation framework is in place.
Whilst taking responsibility for managing, developing, and motivating the existing Finance team, the successful individual will also need to be prepared to be hands-on in all areas of the monthly accounts process. This will cover the full remit of transactional requirements through to strategic budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis and the presentation of results at board level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for provision of excellent management information including monthly reporting of KPI’s,
- Responsibility of Management Accounts and Client Reporting providing variance analysis and commentary (the story the numbers are telling)
- Provide insightful financial support to the Sales and Client Development teams, influencing behaviors and performance through insights relating to key drivers
- Providing insight and understanding of key factors and trends
- Promoting a business partnering culture, ensuring colleagues understand financial priorities and provide support
- Preparing financial information for the board and non-finance stakeholders including budgets, forecasts, cash flow and other information as required
- Management of two qualified direct reports who are supported by wider finance team
- Reviewing and approving all commercial proposals & supporting tender processes
- Preparing year-end financial accounts with notes
- Management of company Cash flow and Debtors control
- Devising and overseeing procurement processes ensuring that they are properly authorized, and suppliers are paid to maximize cash flow while adhering to agreed terms
- Leading the management of Finance systems and controls that are in place to provide robust, accurate and timely information to stakeholders to make business decisions
- Management of monthly reconciliation of balance sheet including control accounts
- Responsibility for Compliance, e.g., Companies House, HMRC, etc.
- Driving potential systems implementations
