Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, as European Accounts Officer, you would be required to support existing and transitional operations in both the UK and Belgium offices, resolve issues, streamline processes, drive change and act as a liaison between UK and Belgium. This role is offered on a 12 month Fixed Term contract basis.
Duties:
Provide advice and support in relation to European Financial processes
Create documented standard operating procedures for all duties in Belgium
Perform analysis of Customers and Suppliers in Belgium
Process UK/Belgium Month End (accruals, prepayments and depreciation with journal postings) UK and Belgium
Balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, investigation and resolution
Support processing of Company VAT Returns/Tax Returns
Preparation of Management Accounts
Purchase Ledger Reconciliation
Cash processing and collection
Supplier Invoice processing
Prepare Daily Sales Reports
Customer and Supplier Liaison
Additional reporting as required
To provide cover as required for members of the Finance Team
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Formal relevant training such as AAT Knowledge of UK and European Financial Legislation Previous experience at operational administrative level within accountancy/financial environment Excellent IT and computer skills, particularly spreadsheet experience (Excel) Ability to cope with a high volume of work and meet demanding deadlines Excellent professional communication skills Dutch and/or French language skills (preferred not essential) Teamwork and Flexibility (critical) Organised, analytical, pragmatic and methodical Driven and motivated self-starter Solution orientated
