Job Description

You will provide a range of essential administrative support for the team. The focus of this role will be evenly split to support postgraduate student activities/events and academic researcher development, including assisting with the smooth running of the Researcher Development (academic) training programmes for staff who research. You will be the first point of contact for a wide variety of people at all levels (both internally and externally) and will be expected to gain a good knowledge of the remit of the company and the University’s procedures to support postgraduates and staff who research.

What will you be doing, day to day?

  • Supporting the wider team by taking responsibility for specific areas of administration within the team
  • Coordinating postgraduate student communication via the weekly email bulletin, social media, and website
  • Assisting with projects that enhance the postgraduate student experience (i.e. the annual Researchers’ Showcase)
  • Acting as a first point of contact for the Researcher Development (academic) training programmes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven experience in a similar role in a busy office with competing demands and priorities
  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or proven experience of the use of MS Office Packages (MS Word and MS Excel in particular)
  • Recent experience of working or studying within Higher Education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise effectively with all contacts, and a professional attitude to work
