Responsibility for organizing, planning, and monitoring the workload of the accountancy staff.
Management and supervision of the accounts team.
Collaborating and setting budgets
Ensuring key performance indicators, including fee recovery rates, are met.
Ensuring an elevated level of client service and client contact throughout the year by the team.
Provide tax support to the accounts team.
In this role you will also be reviewing and completing personal and corporate tax returns as required and managing the tax department, preparing, and reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Consulting with HMRC and clients as required
Responsible for the management of the staff team, ensuring they are provided with good leadership
Manage all aspects of the client portfolio including workflow from inception to completion and quality control
Deal with the more technical queries from the diverse client portfolio
Work with clients to identify their needs and explore solutions including cash flows and business plans where necessary.
Advise, influence and coach clients in the delivery of the financial aspects of their business
Provide accurate financial advice, guidance, and practical support to clients
Ensure that work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed time frames and budget
Assisting management on onboarding clients
Implementing new procedures within the organization
Creating and generating new revenue streams
Maintaining own client portfolio up to date with tracked queries
Managing client ledgers and reconciliations and delegating effectively
Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable as required
Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to management or client
Assisting/ acting as the client finance department and senior staff members with various tasks, including preparing budgets, records, Tax returns and statements
Preparing annual budgets
Completing the year-end analysis
Reporting on debtors and creditors
Management Accounting and dealing with client investors
Managing monthly budgeting tasks
Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source
Preparing Final accounts for Client signature and submission
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICB, AAT qualified or equivalent
Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience of working in an accountancy practice.
Experience of managing a finance department
Taxation and accounts experience at a senior level.
Considerable experience in private, corporate tax and accounts.
Knowledge of various accounts packages including Xero, Sage, etc.
Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills as a minimum.
Ability to work unsupervised and work well under pressure.
