Job Description

You will be responsible for providing assurance of supply and cost competitiveness for the portfolio of Beverage Cans, Metal Closures and Glass Bottles. The role also carries responsibility of building category strategies for the above-mentioned materials as well as developing efficient supplier relationships, managing risks, complying with procurement governance processes, and importantly, leading negotiations and implementation of best in class sourcing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute category strategies for Beverage Cans, Metal Closures and Glass Bottles.
• Embed Sustainability in the Approach to category strategies and develop a sustainability Roadmap for Metal and Glass Packaging (including Carbon reduction initiatives and industry sustainability standards).
• Explore viable sustainable opportunities for recycled content inclusion in plastic closures.
• Negotiate competitive supplier contracts which include optimized payment terms and key service levels for the Metal Packaging and Glass categories.
• Develop a robust Pipeline of Value for the Packaging Portfolio.
• Own the annual budget process for Beverage Cans, Metal Closures and Glass Bottles spend and subsequently manage and deliver the budget in the financial year for Metal and Glass Packaging.
• Develop the Sustainability Roadmap and Deliver company’s Sustainability Agenda for the Metal and Glass Packaging categories
• Work collaboratively with the Value Engineering Team to identify new cost reduction projects and opportunities
• Be the Procurement team point of contact and subject matter expert on Metal Packaging and Glass categories.
• Participate in functional projects (e.g., Working Capital Improvement Programme) with engagement from suppliers where appropriate.
• Deliver savings/cost avoidance in line with budget forecast.
• Maximize the spend under contract and conduct commercial negotiations/tenders for all Metal Packaging and Glass categories.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of packaging categories (Metal and Glass is a plus)
• Strong understanding of International Supply Chain and Regulatory Environments (duties, Incoterms)
• Strong experience in tender processes: RFI, RFP and e-auctions
• Good understanding of commercial contract law and ability to negotiate and deliver supplier contracts.
• Strong Category Management experience.
• Good understanding of FMCG product development and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with suppliers across different countries and cultures.
• Good working knowledge of systems including SAP Ariba, Cirtuo and MS Excel
