Job Description
- Lead on the production of monthly accounts for the organization’s portfolio of insurance and guarantee products, preparing journals and month end commentary to support the monthly management packs.
- Business partner with the relevant teams to advice on the correct treatment of various products, as well as ensuring the underwriting teams are provided with appropriate and accurate information.
- Review an analyses new products, to ensure that they are accounted for correctly, liaising with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to stay up to date on all new product types.
- Provide a crucial role in the organization’s upcoming implementation of a new accounting standard.
- Line management of an Assistant Financial Accountant.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA).
- A technically strong financial accountant, with experience in managing large and complex provisions.
- A first-class communicator with a strong track record of professional development.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
