Job Description

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller is a key role within the UK finance team, responsible for managing the statutory reporting process, ensuring compliance and integrity of procedures, controls and balance sheet recognitions for the UK entities.

Responsibilities;

  • Production of statutory accounts, and management of external year end audit, to strict deadlines
  • Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the internal control environment and review of outputs (balance sheet responsibility / reconciliations)
  • Oversee reconciliation of revenue and ensure accuracy of revenue recognition
  • Management of the company's financial controls, including maintenance of the general ledger, month end close and associated control processes
  • Oversight on monthly P&L results, including overall personnel costs and completeness and accuracy of intercompany/secondary charges
  • Oversight of shared service team outputs to ensure timeliness and accuracy of UK accounting records
  • Oversight of key business systems including Salesforce to ensure accuracy of data to be included in accounting records; provide support to business in resolving issues or queries
  • Oversight and approval of bi-weekly and ad hoc payment runs, and support with debt collection activities as needed
  • Tax reviews
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies and raise financial awareness across the business
  • Project work to build business and improve streamline systems, processes and control
  • Support on ad-hoc projects and information requests as required

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in statutory and compliance reporting requirements and processes, including co-ordination of year end audit, with technical excellence in IFRS reporting
  • Organized, detail oriented, self-starter; able to work autonomously when required
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and quickly be able to identify accounting problems and propose solutions
  • Good quality decision making and ability to plan, prioritize
  • System skills preferred: SAP, SalesForce, Tagetik, MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of working in an international / matrix environment and prior experience of working with a shared service/BPO model would be beneficial
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Qualified by experience will be considered based on merit
